Product Design Teacher's Guide

The materials in the KS4 books and task files are no longer in print but they are still extremely useful, especially when re-packaged as easy-to -use sets of information and activities that teach design strategies in the Design Hexagon section and guides for designing particular types of products in the Design Guides section.

Design & technology teachers have already down loaded thousands of examples for the focus areas: Graphic products, Textiles, Food technology and Electronic products.

Product design is now available with Design Guides for seating, automata, lighting, storage, toys and games, testing equipment, body adornment, improving quality, mechanical systems, electrical systems and structural systems. In the Design Hexagon there are 4 new Resource Tasks: SRT 5a, Observational drawing, SRT 5b, Investigative drawing (both under section 3) and SRT 5c, Modelling appearance and SRT 5d, Modelling function, both of which appeaer in Section 4.
