The Nuffield Foundation
In Key Stage 3 (ages 11 – 14 years) students will spend much of their time designing and making with a range of materials: food, textiles, resistant materials such as wood, metal and plastic, plus a range of mechanical, electrical and electronic components.
In Key Stage 4 your son or daughter will be able to specialise and concentrate on designing and making with just one area of technology; such as Food technology or Electronics.
In the Nuffield course these designing and making activities are called Capability Tasks because it is through these tasks that students learn to be capable and show how capable they are.
