Nuffield Resources CD ROM Survey

Norma Dunn

Feedback indicated that the resources on CD ROM are useful across all focus areas and can be used at KS3 and KS4. So a big “Thank you” to all those who took part.

We put all the names into a hat and the winner was Norma Dunn of The Kings School, Peterborough. Her specialisms are Food, & Textiles. Norma writes “The Textile Chooser Charts are providing a useful starting point for the revision of fibres and fabrics GCE AS and A2 Product Design. As we still use the Key Stage 3 Nuffield Students Book with our classes the CD ROM is an added bonus”.

Runners up were Mandy Wright of the University of Huddersfield who said
“Thank you very much, you made my day (I never win anything).”

And Cathy Mc Elroy of Shorefields School, Liverpool who responded:
“That’s great, I never win anything!!”

So three happy people now have their M&S vouchers.

The CD is now being analysed before being re-issued. Improvements will include:
* A more intuitive and user-friendly navigation system
* More specialist interest articles with up-to-date information
* A completely revision of the materials concerned with Electronics
* Information that will help teachers use the contents of the CD ROM to meet the requirements of the Key Stage 3 Revision

The aim is for the CD to be co-published with the Design And Technology Association.
