New PowerPoints to help pupils design cities for the future

Change Of Place

At the beginning of 2007 the Office of Science and Innovation commissioned the Change of Place project as one way of engaging young people in school with the work of Foresight on Intelligent Infrastructure.

Responses have been very positive but Gordon Baker whose initial idea it was to produce materials for schools wondered why we hadn't included images and information about the urban dimension of the four future scenarios.

A nod is as good as a wink and the advantage of web-based materials is that they can be easily updated. So, the scenario PowerPoint presentations now have additional slides dealing with the urban dimension. The extra slides contain a big picture statement to help pupils gain an overview of the scenario plus additional more detailed animations. You can use this link to access the new presentations, simply click here.
